Meet the Members: The Therapists in Office 4

We’ve decided to start a Meet the Members blog series, so you can get to know the businesses working behind our doors.

First up: Nicola and Rachel, two independent therapists who share Office 4. They’ve been with us for over a year, and in that time they’ve turned a plain upstairs office into one of the calmest rooms in the building. They’ve put real thought into making it a space where clients feel at ease from the moment they walk in: warm, quiet and welcoming, with nothing clinical about it.

So let’s introduce the two people who made it happen.

Nicola

Birch Phoenix Counselling

Nicola is an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, supporting adults who feel overwhelmed or are struggling with low mood, anger or anxiety.

She’s trained in three approaches and tailors her work to the person in front of her rather than running everyone through the same process.

Nicola from Birch Phoenix Counselling

Psychodynamic – looks at how past experiences, often from childhood, shape the way you respond to things now.

Humanistic – focuses on self-acceptance and your own capacity to grow, with you setting the direction.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – a structured, practical approach working on the links between your thoughts, feelings and behaviour in the present.

Nicola holds an Advanced Diploma and BSc (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and is a Full Clinical Member of UKCP.

She offers a free 15-minute introductory call, so you can get a feel for how she works before committing to anything.

Rachel

Rachel Shaw Therapy

Rachel is a trauma-focused therapist registered with the NCPS, working with adults whose difficulties stem from childhood trauma and emotional neglect.

She originally spent four years training in person-centred therapy, and now draws on three further approaches alongside her Christian faith.

Rachel from Rachel Shaw Therapy

Somatic Work – a body-centred approach based on how emotions and trauma sit in the nervous system.

Parts Work – treats the mind as a set of distinct inner parts rather than one unified self.

Inner Child Work – connects with the younger, more vulnerable parts of you that were hurt or overlooked in childhood.

Rachel offers a free 10-minute introductory call on the same basis.

Why a Dedicated Room Matters

Plenty of therapists work from home or move between rented rooms. Both come with compromises: interruptions, no consistency for clients, and a space that never quite feels like a practice. Having Office 4 as their own has given Nicola and Rachel a calm, settled base to work from, and it’s made them a proper part of Native Space too. When they’re not with clients, you’ll often find them chatting with other members around the building. They really embody what we’re all about here.

We are so pleased to have Nicola and Rachel with us, and can’t wait to see what’s next for them. If you feel you could benefit from their services, check out their websites and enquire now. They might just be the support you’ve been looking for.
